Our Travels and History
2016 saw us head north to the Scottish capital city, Edinburgh. We were joined on the stage by the legendary Steve Kondik of Cyanogen fame, Wilkin and James from HonorUK, Skyscanner, Mario Vivanni from Amazon, Matthew Brack from XDA developers, and the guys from IDEAA who helped us massively with putting on a code kitchen for the first time ever.
After a very successful event in Bournemouth for 2014, March of the Droids visited the Midlands. For 2015 we visited Birmingham university.
Following on from Glasgow in 2012 and Manchester in 2013, we took our 100% Android event further south this year and marched upon Bournemouth, UK, as we kicked off our third year.
Android enthusiasts got together as we talked about wearables, in-app purchasing, mobile retail, android gaming and app testing at the Bournemouth Life Centre on Saturday, May 10th 2014.
The second year saw the event move to Manchester where it became an international meet-up. With people coming from all over Europe to socialise and discuss Android and Technology as a whole, the event became a much larger dream. HTC were joined by several well known mobile phone accessory companies including Clove Technology, Proporta and Cruzerlite.
Originally called Glasdroid, this event was first held in Glasgow, Scotland. It was a modest affair with 20-30 hardcore fans who came from all over the UK to talk Android and enjoy some giveaways. Three UK and HTC donated prizes and brought a selection of products for us to try out. This event was the first of its kind in the UK – a collection of fans getting together just for the love of the product.
